Sachin: Journal 4

Day 4 (November 3):

Today was a wonderful day. We traveled to the Ronald McDonald House. The purpose for that house is wonderful. It benefits families, whose children are in the hospital, that are from out of town. It gives them a free place to stay, where they can rest and eat, and visit their child frequently. I can only imagine the emotional stress and depression that the families who stay there are going through. If your staying at the house, then your child is seriously ill. That is hard enough for any parent. You could sense the depression from the people who were staying there, and you felt sorry for them. At the same time, you were happy that you were helping these people who required and were thankful for your help.

The house provides food, housing, entertainment, and quite relaxation for free. They help those who need it, and poise almost as a safe house for those under heavy emotional stress. I respect them greatly for their dedication and help to families. Families are extremely grateful to them for providing company, housing, and food during such a rough time. You could also sense their gratitude as they saw you working. They really appreciated the hard work that we put in to help them. I believe our work payed off. Even though it was subtle, the great appreciation from the guests told you that it impacted them greatly.
