Today’s speaker was much different than the other two. Having started the Padua Center her self only a few years ago, she showed deep passion for what she believed in. She seemed like a person who really, truly wanted to help people. The amount of people she has helped, and the amount of people she still wants to help was amazing. She provided a safe place and a place of hope for those whose lives were bad, but, because of the situation, could not change or fix them. She offers help for everyone who needs it; all ages, genders, races, and religions. Her true passion for what she does, and the connection she forms with the people she works with, allows her to fully understand the impact she is making and the need for her help in peoples’ lives. Her passion for what she does was truly inspiring.
Later in the afternoon, we returned to the Gift & Kind Center. Both groups, the girls and the guys, did the same thing. We moved mattresses and furniture, while the girls folded and sorted clothing. Today I realized how much stuff people have, but also how useful it is now that they have donated it. When we were moving furniture, we found some very nice item that were still usable. Even though it is evident that humans consume WAY too much, just from seeing how many good things were donated, it is nice to see that it is still going to be put to use. The Cherry Street Mission and its donares are giving and providing things for those who are less fortunate, and it is being put to use.

Very good post, Sachin. It was really amazing how passionate Sr. Virginia was about the Padua Center. I am looking forward to having our group go to the center and do the many activities they are planning for us.
