Abi: Journal 15

Day 15 (November 18)

On Friday we went to the Padua center, and before that we went for lunch. We were having a hard time making a decision about the lunch, so we went to Hometown Buffet because they had a wide variety. Unfortunately, we didn't stay there because of an incident that happened. Our whole group entered the building, and we payed for everyone at the counter. As we were walking to our table, an elderly male in a wheel chair glared at Asma and Hedeyeh and said something very rude, implying that he hated "foreigners". At that point, I had no idea what to do, and everyone was shocked after they told us what happened. I felt so terrible for the girls, and I felt even worse for the man because of how rude he was. I think he said what he said because maybe he wasn't used to having mixed cultures around. I was so happy to see Mr. Graham go to talk to him though. After that, we went to a different restaurant and headed ove to the Padua center to wrap things up. We hung up the christmas tree and it looked really old. I've never seen a tree like the one we made. it had allot of complicated arragnments instead of 3 diffrent sections to put up. After that, the kids who were staying there gave us ice cream and we all got certificates. The kids seemed really accomplished after they gave us ice cream because we all thanked them. I now that Sister Virginia was glad that we helped her because we impacted the organization in so many ways.
