Sachin: Journal 9
Day 9 (November 10):
Today our trip to the Ronald McDonald House was fun. I really enjoyed all of us working together. This is the first time where, as a class, we worked together, in the same place, to get a task done. I enjoy our Winterim group a lot, and this was the first time were we ALL did the same thing. We all worked really hard today. Most of the time, the girls were disinfecting legos with bleach and water! Everybody else either organized things, or disinfect every single item in the basement. Mr. Graham acted as our drill sergeant and gave everybody a job. After our great team work, we went and baked cookies. I thought this was a success. This helped me realize how much, something as little as cookies, meant to these people. They are going through a horrible time in their lives, if they are staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and knowing you can help them means a lot. Making the cookies, I feel, is a recognized help. Most of the guests staying there probably will never know that we cleaned. Having a physical thing that they eat or use is something that would help them emotionally. They would feel the effects of our work, and appreciate them.
