Isaak: Journal 7

Day 7 (November 8):

Today was an amazing day because we went to the kitchen which is a part of the Cherry St. Mission. We were there for at least 4 hours meaning we were there to help out from the start to the end. We divide into two groups and one group were doing the cooking and the other group was organizing the storage foods. I was with the group in the storage area and we basically organized the daily donations that comes from schools and other food drives meaning the small food drive that a group of eighth graders was somewhere there. Soon we finished that job and it was almost time to serve the food to the needed people. While other students served the meals, I served the drinks to the people and then the lunch has finished for them and we returned to the campus. Also we are starting our own presentation to be finished at the end of the week.

The reflection for today is gladness and enjoyment because it was nice to fill the needed people's belly. Since they are homeless hungry, they cannot always find their next meal. I felt glad that I was able to serve them and that they are lucky that today they have their fill which makes me feel good. A couple of people came to the kitchen and said thank you to all of us for preparing the meals and that the meals were marvelous. In the end it was enjoying that the homeless and hungry people came to find their meals and that they appreciated our help.
