Osama: Journal 10

Day 10 (November 11):

Today was a very interesting and fun day. We did a lot of things. Firstly, we started off the day with breakfast of doughnuts, muffins, bagels, and some fruit. Then we began presenting our weekly projects. You could tell that everybody put a lot of effort into it. I liked the videos people made the most. What made it fun was that everybody had a different way of interacting with the class. Some people had games, others had puzzles, and some people had just basic questions and answers. Each person's job was to present a certain chapter from the book. It took pretty much the whole day to complete the presentations. Anyways, in the afternoon, after lunch we visited Swan Creek for a special veterans day presentation. They asked us to help them out and do something for the veterans. So, as a group we decided on singing and maybe some dancing. Everyone was really nervous and we had a lot of trouble practicing. Then, Isaak had a genius idea to host a jeapordy game. So, we set up questions about different wars that they could have been a part of. Although I kept it to myself, I was worried that they wouldn't know any answers. Eventually, I realiazed my mistake. When we got to Swan Creek we were asked to serve dessert and drinks to the elders and veterans. Then, it was our time to perform. I was chosen to host the Jeapordy game, along with Nick and Abi. To my surprise, it was a complete success. The audience knew all of the answers. It was really interesting to see how many people just shot their hands into the air with the answers at the tip of their tongues! As we concluded our Jeapordy game, we wanted to do something with the Veterans. So, we all stood up, faced the flag, and sung our national anthem. It was prety amazing! I give a lot of credit to Isaak, because without his effort we would have been singing the whole entire time. Anyways, we were thanked by many veterans and then we proceeded back to school. We finished up the presentatios and called it a day. What a great Veterans Day!
