Nora: Journal 10

Day 10 (November 11):

The much dreaded visit to the Swan Creek retirement center was today. We had a good time, but the dread stemmed from the fact that we couldn't get our shenanigans together when we were practicing our little dessert and a show routine. It was weird to walk into that room and realize how much all these people had been through. It was almost freaky to think about time like that. The residents seemed to enjoy themselves though, and I'm glad they participated in our activities. Other than that, we basically sat through a storm of presentations on chapters from a $40 book ($40 each... am I the only one that thinks that's ridiculous? Especially for the books we got, I mean come on). I have no idea how my presentation went. I don't even know if it held just a tiny percent of interest from the class, or if they felt like banging their heads against their desks. Who knows. The walk over to Swan Creek was definitely interesting... I especially loved the part where Mrs. Ariss & Co. and Mr. Graham & Co. got separated... Then Mr. Graham & Co. got lost. Awesome. Then again, what fun would it have been to be on a predictable trip where you just know where you are and where you have to go and... when you'll get there... and where everyone else is. It may not be easy to recognize my sarcasm. I know it can be hard. Again with the sarcasm. I just never stop. But in all seriousness, it did make an ordinarily straightforward and predictable journey different. It's nice to know you can still find adventure in Toledo.
