Abi: Journal 13

Day 13 (November 16)

Today we went to the Padua Center again, and did basically the same thing. When Asma and I were working on the health presentation, Sister Virginia stopped by to see wehre we were at, and told us that we were on the wrong track even though she specifically told us to make a presentation yesterday. Instead, she wanted us to make a spreadsheet of all the months of the year and assign each month a health awareness theme. She told us to come up with something for each awareness month that could benefit the community and neighbors. An example that we came up with is in June, and it would obesity month since that is the time were people would be more vulnerable to get active. During that month, there would be a guest speaker to visit the Padua Center to talk about nutrition. Padua would be teaching the community how to get active and eat right throughout that month. This assignment could be stressful in a way to us just because we already have a whole action plan to worry about, but it benefits us because Mr. Graham told us its a great opportunity for young kids like us to organize something so ideal to the organization.
