Hedyeh: Journal 17

Today. we went to the LifeBridge Center.
As disappointed as I had been maybe with lack of community participation previous times, this time knocked my socks off! About fifty people were volunteering there, from little kids as young as four or five to elderly people. There was a great community presence there, and it made everyone happy. It was a great way to end Winterim.
As for Winterim fair, I enjoyed it. Having a partner as back-up while presenting was great. There were some people who were really interested in what we had to say and asked questions and were really involved. Others, however, were kind of rushing to get to a more interesting-looking presentation, so they kind of brushed us off halfway through our presentation and mumbled their complements while walking away. It was kind of insulting, really. After the first time this happened, we did some speed-editing and cut down our Prezi so that it was more audience-friendly. All in all, it went rather well. There was even someone from a news channel who came in and interviewed Osama, which I thought was pretty cool.
