Today we went to Cherry St. Misson to transport goods for the food boxes. First we went to the kitchen to get all of the boxes that were filled with thanksgiving dinner ingredients. We made an assembly line that carried out all the way to a big truck. The assembly line was a really good technique because it was fast and efficient. In about 15 to 20 minutes we were done, and we all headed down to life bridge to unload everything we loaded into the truck. At life bridge we sorted, stacked, and organized the cans by type and weight. We also had a "heavy and light" assembly line for those who couldn't handle the heavy boxes. I noticed that if our group of 12 wasn't there to help with the unloading and loading, they wouldn't have been very efficient with their time. Half of our group stayed at Life Bridge, and half went back to the kitchen to load the truck once more. It was quite fun moving and organizing the cans and packages. I feel likei met a variety of people every time I come to cherry st. or any other organizations. I think that we really made the volunteers' work easier, and the actual idea of what the boxes are for can make a difference in a family's life.
